India played like champions throughout the test and the ODI series. They outplayed the world champions in all departments and currently are the only team to take on the Aussies and give them the taste of their own medicine. Be it in hard-hitting strokes or pacy balls, the current Indian team has done them all in style. With the likes of the young guns like Ishant, Rohit, Irfan,Gambhir to name a few coming good and the seniors like Sachin, Yuvraj to back up and guide the young brigade, the current Indian team is the unofficial number one in world cricket and they have unseated and rattled the current Australian team.
The Australians who are used to play aggressive cricket on and off the field missed quite a few tricks. They concentrated on more chit-chats on and off the field and the Harbhajan -Symonds-Hayden made the situation worse, as the home team was more focused on answering verbal volley than countering Indian plans. The ploy to use verbal volleys against Indians backfired as the Indian team under the able leadership of Dhoni turned tables and gave it back in style, both in and out of the 22 yards. Monkey or maa ki, it worked for India and the obnoxious weed was too tough to handle for Ponting's team and proved highly destructive and competitive.
The lose of the series would go down as the lowest point in the history of Australian as Dhoni's Devils had beaten the Australians in the own backyard.
It will be a great atmosphere in the Indian dressing room. Dhoni and his Devils, especially Harbhajan Singh will dance and party. It's been a fine series and Indians deserved to be on the winning side. The fought hard and played their cards well, specially the youngsters. This team is in the process of rebuilding a team for the next World Cup. With Gary Kirsten as the coach of the Indian team, this team is sure to go to places and would try to displace officially form the number one spot in world cricket.Chak De Team India.
